There is nothing in the gloom this sadness, this badness. A dark and empty room devoid of all gladness A shower of sparks patter on the window Brightness yearning, turning Bits of life struggling, and stretching like thin dough out of the mire, turning it to dust and burning. Curtains fall, shutting out writhing shapes as they twist and claw; tooth-lined red maw lunges and gapes And yet, this is not the final straw. Door on door down the wall begin to close an almighty sprint to the end, avoiding each bend Each obstacle a set of highs and lows Where it goes no one knows Running feet catch on broken stone Crumpling and falling, always stal

Something wicked this way comes To the rolling of the drums A rolling crashing din Which brings to mind of man every lie and sin Even as the dead rise to run The living fall one by one Fear or fright no one knows As down the mountains an ill wind blows Lovers part and feuds are forgotten Enemies shake hands as trust turns rotten Shadows breathe in the darkened light That none knows is day or night O'er the lands of laughter and life Creep twisted arms spawning wayward strife Nothing is left but echoes whispering Forgotten voices which deceive and cling The land lies silent grieving still But the skies turn stormy celebrating the kill A

Burning eyes, too tired watch fingers limp over the keys Letters black on white, seemingly mired, in an academic trial to please It becomes a race in time to analyse, probe and write, to create a paradigm before the mind succumbs to its plight Ah caffeine, that glorious drug Its legality is a godsend Psychoactive compounds fight off the fug wisps of sleep it apprehends.

If I had a riddle That you could play One you couldn't diddle What would you say? It can stand the tests of time And has a strength like no other Have you an idea of this rhyme Or more clues would you rather? The strength is a veneer Underneath lies delicate threads Which a single misstep can shear Ah, a merry chase we have led One more clue Repairs can take years And even then, rarely hold true And for some it just disappears

A stroll through minds.

On a dark and winding road Lined with creatures of unimaginable forms Walks the girl with the heavy load She treads through sunshine and storms Though she be but young Untold experience leaves marks on her face A rasping in each lung And a thirst for the chase The sun comes peeping through Into this particular hell From place to place she flew In search of its bright spell An endless quest for a thing so fleeting So undeniably slight Yet many join her seeking An end to this boundless plight The creatures loom But she reaches out At bay she holds them, too soon for her doom And quenches all lingering doubt.

Procrasti-poetry

Hours go whizzing by, as days turn into nights. Sitting here, I watch weeks fly, and the speed of years break physics. Twenty years whooshed by, yet where am I? I am young and old, a paradox. An old soul, bold. Confident in youthful wisdom. No longer conforming to society’s mould. The winter comes, with it, promise. Half a year vanishes down Time’s greedy maw. It is Death’s scarce-known accomplice. The same could be said for one’s tedious study. I’m nearly there. Honest.

Hi guys!

I thought I'd join dA as I really wanted to explore all of the different art types out there, and upload a few of my own.
I draw occasionally, but not as well as I'd like. Maybe one day I'll get there :p
My main 'thing' is photography. One day I'd love to be a professional wildlife photographer, and maybe even combine it with my degree (I'm studying science), but I'll just see how it goes.
Please let me know if you like my photos! I appreciate every scrap of encouragement (and even criticism, haha).
You'll be able to see a difference from when I first started, to what I'm accomplishing now. Granted, I have better equipment but still! TECHNICAL EVOLUTION :D
